Hi! My name is Laura, and I am the owner of Grinning Soul Crochet.

I fell in love with crochet watching my granny make pieces for her home and our family. She taught me the basics at a young age: how to hold my hooks, how to wrap my yarn, and how to start a chain. My mother later bought me my first set of hooks and a book of patterns. That’s when I learned to create items that are equal parts fashion, function, and art. I still use the same hooks today, so every stitch is truly made with love. 

I’ve always enjoyed gifting pieces to family and friends, but after years of seeing so many faces light up in receiving a handmade piece, I knew I wanted to do more.

And thus, Grinning Soul was born. (If you don’t get the reference - go listen to Bowie!)

Grinning Soul is all about connecting people. Whether you buy something as a gift, or the item you purchase for yourself sparks a conversation in line at the grocery store, I hope these pieces bring you closer to someone.

I love mixing my passions for music, album artwork and vintage patterns into my work as well as incorporating your visions to create items you will love.

I currently live in Tennessee with my beautiful family. In addition to raising my daughter, I love spending time with my husband and our family and friends across the state.
